Nature
One of Valmont’s defining natural areas is the Marais de Valmont. The wetland covers 104 hectares and is an Espace Naturel Sensible (Sensitive Natural Area). More than 250 wild animal and plant species have been recorded there; some of them are protected at national or European level. The flooded reed beds of the Marais de Valmont are used by Western Marsh Harriers and Sedge Warblers.
Walking Trails
The Circuit des fontaines de Valmont is a walk to discover the fountains and the Marais de Valmont. As a there-and-back route, it is listed as either 3.6 km or 6 km.
Marked walking trails maintained by the Club Vosgien are available in the Studen canton, in the Valmont forest. A fitness trail was also created in the Studen canton in cooperation with the town of Folschviller.

Culture
The Saint-Gengoulph parish church in Valmont is a barn church with a polygonal chancel and a bell tower projecting from the façade.
The nave of Valmont’s present-day church is 25.20 m long, 12.20 m wide and 7 m high inside.
Valmont’s church was built in the 18th century. Before that, there was a chapel on the site, already mentioned in 1221, which was extended in 1776–1777.
Geographical Location
Saint-Avold railway station is located within the municipality of Valmont. It is served by TER Grand Est trains on the Metz–Rémilly–Forbach–Saarbrücken route (line 15) and the Metz–Sarreguemines route (line 16).
