Réchicourt-Le-Château: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Grande Ecluse de Réchicourt-le-Château is considered the highest lock in France for Freycinet-type vessels and was built to replace a sequence of six locks.

When planning a trip, the desire to rent a holiday apartment in Réchicourt-Le-Château may be the main focus.

Culture

The Château de Réchicourt features construction phases from the 15th century, the second quarter of the 16th century, the 17th century and the 18th century. The local history also includes the Chapelle Saint-Blaise, which was built in 1880 and has a bell dating from 1669.

Until 1954, on 3 February, the feast of Saint Blaise, numerous pilgrims came to the Chapelle Saint-Blaise to pray and have baskets of seeds and agricultural produce blessed. The chapel is no longer open for worship, but can be visited throughout the year on request.

The 600 m² fresco “Passeur d’eaux douces” by Adec can be discovered by visitors, leisure boaters, cyclists and walkers.

Nature

The Étang de Réchicourt-le-Château is divided into five basins. One of these basins continues to be used for commercial and recreational navigation.

The grounds around the Étang de Réchicourt-le-Château are accessible year-round and allow visitors to discover its wildlife and arboretum. The arboretum is located on the banks of the Étang de Réchicourt-le-Château. It is open to the public and can be visited individually as part of self-guided visits.

Trails

The Circuit du petit étang is a 5.9-kilometre circular walking trail. It passes through the wildest and best-preserved part of the Étang de Réchicourt, is marked, and has an estimated walking time of two hours.

The Circuit de la grande écluse follows the reservoir pond and then passes the six locks that were formerly used for navigation.

Trott'balade follows the old canal and the towpath along the former sequence of six locks, which was replaced by the Grande Ecluse in 1964.

A cycle path runs by the arboretum and leads to the Grande Ecluse on the Canal de la Marne au Rhin.

Trott'balade offers three discovery routes. The accompanied discovery tour takes place on all-terrain electric scooters in the Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine and the Pays des Étangs. Trott'balade also offers rides on all-terrain electric scooters, allowing visitors to explore the surrounding area.
