Le Ban-Saint-Martin lies on the Moselle and is protected by Mont Saint-Quentin. The combination of river landscape, paths and prominent cultural monuments gives the town a varied character. When planning a trip to Le Ban-Saint-Martin, renting a holiday apartment can be part of the itinerary.

Location and paths

A local path connects the upper and lower parts of the municipality. This path is used to reach the walking paths on Mont Saint-Quentin. Le Ban-Saint-Martin also has numerous footpaths. In the nearby area, Sentier n°3 – Le tour du Mont Saint-Quentin offers viewpoints over the Moselle Valley, vineyards and the villages on the slopes. This path also passes through limestone grasslands and woodland in the nearby area.

Lines L5 and L6 of the Le Met’ network serve Le Ban-Saint-Martin. A cycle route and cycle lanes have also been established in the municipality.

Nature

In the Bois des lapins area, the adapted design provides a habitat for numerous wild rabbits, hedgehogs and squirrels. In the surrounding area, Mont Saint-Quentin has been classified as a protected site since 1994 because of its landscape, historical and ecological value.

Culture and history

The Tour Bismarck was built in 1902 in honour of the former Reich Chancellor Otto von Bismarck. It is considered to be the only Bismarck tower still standing in France. The Tour Bismarck can be reached via numerous laid-out paths; visitors can climb to the top and enjoy the view.

The Ancien château Lasalle was built around the middle of the 18th century. Most of the rooms have retained their 18th-century furnishings. By decree of 10 May 1996, the Ancien château Lasalle was entered on the register of historic monuments.

Local events

The Fête de la Pomme reached its tenth edition in 2024. At the Fête de la Pomme, visitors were offered dishes featuring apples.
