Cattenom combines military architecture, religious monuments, and designated circular routes. The Gros ouvrage du Galgenberg was built from 1931 to 1936. The complex comprises two entrances and six combat blocks connected by underground galleries. At the summit of the hill, the Gros ouvrage also had an observatory for observing the Moselle Valley.
Culture
The ossuary of Cattenom is located beneath the cemetery chapel on Place de la Fontaine. Its construction campaign dates back to 1723. It is protected as a Monument historique; it was listed by a decree dated 23 November 1987. The monument to Barbe de Nève, who died in 1578, comprises a statue, a Cross of the Holy Trinity, and a marble relief.
