Culture
Fort Saint-Sébastien was built between 1850 and 1853 and occupied a strategically important position during the siege of 1870–1871. At the same time, it is an outlying structure of the Citadelle de Bitche. The Citadelle de Bitche has been classified as a historic monument since 1979.
La Citadelle is a fortress in the immediate vicinity of Bitche. The Albatros course at Golf de Bitche is also one of the places offering views of the Citadelle de Bitche, built by Vauban.
Several fortified structures are located in the surroundings of Bitche: Waldeck is a castle, Falkenstein is also a castle, and Château de Waldeck is a castle ruin.
Nature and leisure
Jardin pour la Paix offers a self-guided tour lasting about one hour. It is accessible to people with disabilities and to pushchairs. Visitors can stroll between flower beds and use play areas.
At the leisure centre at Étang de Hasselfurth near Bitche, La Forêt des défis park offers acrobatic courses from tree to tree and skill games for all age groups. The leisure centre at Étang de Hasselfurth also has hiking, horse-riding and cycling trails that can be used all year round.
