History
The Gare de Nouvel-Avricourt was built in the 19th century and has been a listed monument since 9 October 2019.
A new border established by the railway line divided Avricourt into two parts in 1871.
In the Pays des Étangs, the Cité ferroviaire de Nouvel-Avricourt is part of the area's distinctive cultural heritage.
Architecture and Sacred Sites
The Boulangerie-Halle was completed in 2019 and bears the “Architecture contemporaine remarquable” label. On the street side, it has a covered public gallery leading to the premises.
The Église Saint-Ferréol et Ferjeux preserves the Gothic choir with rib vaults of the first church, built in 1552.
The Chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Ermites was built after the village merchant Joseph Deviot survived an attack around 1725.
While construction of the Chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Ermites was delayed, Joseph Deviot erected the wayside cross at the intersection of Rue Lorraine and Rue des Halles.
The Temple d’Avricourt is built of sandstone in the Neo-Gothic style. It has four clocks, which is explained by its location in a railway settlement.
Memorial
The German military cemetery in Avricourt contains 177 graves. It is also the resting place of Russian soldiers who fought alongside France.
Circular Route
The Circuit de Réchicourt-le-Château par Avricourt circular route is 36.5 kilometres long and passes through Avricourt.
