Landscape

Pierrepont is situated on a hill at an altitude of around 240 metres and in a former loop of the Crusnes.

Culture

The former Seillière factory was located on the Crusnes and mainly produced cloth goods for the army. Since 1802, the Seillière factory had ranked among the most important factories in France.

The burial chapel of the Seillière family was built around 1840 as a family burial site. It is a neo-Gothic building made of yellow limestone, based on plans by the sculptor and architect Pierre Joseph Deny. In 1984–1985, the burial chapel was restored by a local association.

The “Doncourt–Baslieux–Pierrepont” section of the Chemins de mémoire project deals with the battles of 22 August 1914.
