Nature and Trails
The Sentier de La Chapelle d’Artiges runs across a semi-open plateau through birch, oak and increasingly rare chestnut woodlands, offering views of the Puy du Bassin. The trail is laid out as an easy, 11.6 km circular route with yellow waymarking and is included in the PDIPR.
The Plan d’eau des Chanaux is a peaceful, wooded waterside area in the heart of Saint-Privat. Trout fishing is possible there.
The Centre Équestre de Malesse offers introductory courses, games, dressage, show jumping, trail rides, bivouacs and horse boarding. The horses roam freely in a green environment with trails in the Xaintrie region.
Culture
The hiking trail to the Chapelle d’Artiges leads to the restored chapel and back to Saint-Privat. Along the Sentier du Chemin des Écoliers, visitors discover the typical architecture of Xaintrie as well as chapels and crosses.
The parish church of Saint-Privat houses the bas-relief “La Cène”. It was classified as a protected object on 15 January 1970.
Markets and Regional Products
The Marchés des Producteurs de Pays offer local fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat, bread and jams. On Tuesdays, visitors can eat on site and enjoy musical and festive events. In July and August, these markets bring Saint-Privat to life with open-air markets and direct contact between producers and consumers.
The Marché du Vendredi takes place every Friday morning and brings together local producers who sell regional products directly.
