Culture and History
The village is home to the Church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens, which was protected as a historic monument by decree of 6 February 1923. Its architectural history combines a 12th-century apse with sculpted capitals, as well as a transept and nave from the 15th century with decorated heraldic keystones.
Connected to the Church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens is a watch turret, or échauguette. It defended the southeastern corner of the former castle of the Noailles family.
The Espace de découverte de la Faille de Meyssac et de la Pierre exhibition in Noailhac is permanently open and free to access. Also located in Noailhac, in Corrèze, is the Dolmen du Puy de la Ramière. It is a Neolithic collective burial site from the 3rd millennium BC.
Paths and Discoveries
The Sentier du Dolmen connects the Dolmen du Puy de la Ramière with the Pierre gravée du Boscoudet. The trail is signposted and has information panels at both of the Neolithic sites visited along the route.
A Terra Aventura geocaching route passes through the village centre and its surroundings. The Circuit de la Vicomté de Turenne (Boucle de Noailhac) is 13.3 km long and has 480 m of positive elevation gain.
Les Chemins Retrouvés is a 14 km circular route within the municipality of Noailhac; there is also a shorter version.
The paths from Orgnac offer shady walks of 2.84 km, 3.66 km or 5.40 km. Along the way, they pass several elements of the small-scale rural heritage, including roasting ponds, watering places, a fountain, ponds and dry-stone chestnut huts.
Nature and Geology
The geological circuit at the Faille de Meyssac showcases the contrast between red, grey or beige sandstone to the north and limestone to the south.
The natural heritage south of Noailhac is protected by designating 400 hectares as a classified site comprising the Butte de Turenne and its surroundings.
