In the historic centre of Meymac, the Musée d’archéologie et du patrimoine Marius Vazeilles is housed in an 11th-century Benedictine abbey. Nature
The Tourbière du Longeyroux is a 250-hectare wetland of European biological interest. It extends across Meymac and the neighbouring municipalities of Saint-Merd-les-Oussines and Chavanac.
The 40-hectare Lac de Séchemailles is surrounded by woodland, green surroundings and sandy beaches. A walking path lined by this scenery and the sandy beaches runs along its shore, and the lake bears the “Pavillon bleu d’Europe” designation. It can also be explored by canoe or kayak.

The Tourbière du Longeyroux includes the signposted 9-kilometre “Sentier de la Bruyère” trail and the 1-kilometre “Sentier des Linaigrettes” trail.
From Meymac or Bugeat, the Tourbière du Longeyroux can be reached via the D979 and then the D109.
The site of the observation tower on Mont Bessou can be reached via an improved forest road.
