Culture and History
The Église Saint-Xantin is a 12th-century church in Malemort-sur-Corrèze and has been classified as a historic monument since 4 April 1905.
The former Saint-Xantin priory includes medieval cellars. In the 9th century, the former site of the Saint-Xantin priory received the relics of Saint Xantin, Bishop of Meaux.
The remains of the 11th-century Castrum of Montemart include a granite main tower with three buttresses on each side; the southwestern section of the wall and the southeastern recess have been preserved. On the sides of the spur of the Castrum of Montemart there are entrances to cellars and troglodytic cave chambers.
The Carnaval de Malemort is regarded as a centuries-old carnival tradition.
Market and Events
The market at the Corrézium offers fresh produce, regional specialities, seasonal fruit and vegetables, cheese, cured meats and artisan bread. Local producers and craftspeople come together at the Sunday market at the Corrézium in Malemort.
Festi Malemort Devaud TP is a cultural and music event held annually at the beginning of July.
