Lubersac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Église Saint-Étienne in Lubersac has been known under this dedication since 1171; since 22 January 1910, it has been classified as a historic monument. Inside, the Romanesque capitals depict scenes from the martyrdom of Saint Stephen as well as from the life of Christ or the Apostles. Frescoes were also discovered during a restoration campaign from 1999 to 2002.

Culture and History

The history of the Chapelle Notre-Dame du Rubeau includes the first authentic documents dating from 1659. For more than a century, great popular devotion shaped the new Marian cult.

The Maison Renaissance was the first presbytery in Lubersac. It has an arcaded façade and sculptures from the late 15th or early 16th century, created by Italian sculptors. The Maison Renaissance can only be viewed from the outside.

With its towers, machicolations and decorative crenellations, the Château du Verdier is reminiscent of 15th-century feudal architecture.

Nature

The Circuit de la Chapelle Anty is an easy 26 km route through forests and pastureland to the Chapelle Anty and the Auvézère. The Sentier du Tour de Ville is signposted as a 6.5 km route marked in green. Fishing is possible at the Plan d'eau de la Vézénie in Lubersac.

The Parc du château du Verdier can be reached via a planted avenue. It consists of extensive open lawns alternating with groups of large trees.

Geographical Location

Lubersac is located in the vicinity of the Auvézère Valley and close to the Route Richard Cœur de Lion. Lubersac is also near a junction with the A89 motorway and close to the A20 motorway.
