Culture and History
In the hamlet of Blavignac, the Saint-Roch Chapel houses a 17th-century sculptural group depicting Saint Roch, an angel and a dog. This group is carried in the procession for the Feast of Saint Roch. The chapel was formerly a chapel of the Knights of Malta and was dedicated to Saint Roch at the beginning of the 17th century.
There are also two reliquaries from the 18th century, made as part of the same commission. One was intended for Saint-Pierre Parish Church in the village centre, and the other for the Saint-Roch Chapel in the hamlet of Blavignac.
A protected horse-drawn hearse is housed in a barn in the centre of Lostanges. It dates from around 1900 and bears a manufacturer's plate for the brothers Paul and Antonin Peyridieux. The two men were united as coachbuilders in Marcillac-la-Croze under the company name Peyridieux Frères.
