Lapleau: Holiday Apartments and Houses

The Viaduc des Rochers Noirs was built for the tram line between Tulle and Ussel. The restored viaduct is open to pedestrians and cyclists and is located more than 90 m above the river. The site is accessible year-round and offers a free audio guide that can be accessed directly via a smartphone. On the Lapleau side, the Autour de la Simendèle loop begins at the Viaduc des Rochers Noirs. It is 8 km long, has a stated duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes, and follows a 1.2 km angler's trail along the Luzège.

Culture

The new Saint-Etienne Church in Lapleau is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival church. It was consecrated in August 1890 and houses the collection of medieval treasures from the churches of the former canton of Lapleau.

The lauze roof of Château Rouby is protected as a historic monument. Château Rouby is privately owned and cannot be visited.

At the Site de Lestrange, only a few ruins of an 11th-century medieval castle remain. The ruins can be seen as part of a 5 km hike.

Nature

The 2-hectare Lake Vendahaut offers supervised swimming in July and August, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. A 10.8 km sports, fitness and wellness trail starts at the car park at Lake Vendahaut and can be used on foot or by mountain bike.

The Cascade de Neyrat can be reached via a hiking trail.
