Saint-Siffret: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

In the old village centre of Saint-Siffret, the houses were built directly on the rock. Some of the old houses contain troglodytic rooms carved directly into the rock. The Romanesque church also bears traces of this long history: its nave has a barrel vault, the apse is semi-domed, and the building dates from the late 12th century.

Historical features also include the remains of an old quarry on the Chemin de l’écolier, from which building stones were extracted, as well as a small fortified 12th-century gate at the Commanderie. The Domaine de Moulin Neuf includes a mill of medieval origin, which has been mentioned since the 16th century. The Domaine de Moulin Neuf is partly protected as a historic monument. The Château de Moulin-Neuf, on the other hand, is privately owned and closed to the public.
