Culture and History

The Tour Jacques Deuze, the keep, forms the centrepiece of the fortified ensemble of Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres. It reaches a height of 25 metres. The Tour Ribas is entirely Romanesque in origin and houses a model depicting the town as it might have looked in the Middle Ages.

Trails and Countryside

The GR®42 passes through Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres. It is part of a 452-kilometre route that runs from the Pilat via Saint-Étienne to the Mediterranean at Grau du Roi–Port Camargue.

The RLESI trail guide suggests walks in each of the participating municipalities. The RLESI network comprises almost 270 kilometres of designated trails. 90 per cent of them are accessible on horseback and by mountain bike; they provide secure access to the garrigue and enable visitors to discover the cultural heritage.

The range of trails also includes the micro-adventure “À travers vignes et garrigues”. On the first day, it covers a 20-kilometre stage from Sauveterre to Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres with 300 metres of elevation gain.

Wine and Local Character

The AOC Lirac covers 750 hectares and four municipalities: Lirac, Saint-Geniès-de-Comolas, Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres and Roquemaure.
