Saint-Félix-De-Pallières: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Saint-Félix-de-Pallières is located on the site of the former Roman villa “Villa San Felicia”. The Pallières mining complex for pyrite, zinc and lead is located in the municipality.

History and Culture

The Église Saint-Félix is protected as a historic monument; it was granted protected status by a decree dated 11 April 1967. In summer, it serves as a venue for concerts and exhibitions. The last site of the Pallières mines closed in 1971.

The Protestant temple at the exit of the village features typical 19th-century architecture with a columned portico. It was restored in 1981 but is not open to visitors. The château is now privately owned and cannot be visited.

The Dolmen de la Bergerie de Panissière has been restored within its cairn; a circle of 15 upright stones marks its perimeter. Around Grande Pallières, there are approximately twenty dolmens. The village also has several “magnaneries”, typical buildings associated with silkworm breeding.

Nature

The municipality encompasses 1,887 hectares of rural, upland and forested areas. Forests cover approximately 95 % of Saint-Félix-de-Pallières. The village and its surroundings offer numerous opportunities for walks as well as hiking and horseback riding.
