Saint-Clément: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Les Eaux Chaudes is a signposted circular hike starting from Saint-Clément, covering 7.3 kilometres with 132 metres of elevation gain and a stated duration of 2 hours and 5 minutes. The hike passes through forests, vineyards and olive groves in a Mediterranean landscape where nature and agriculture are interconnected.

The starting point of the Les Eaux Chaudes hike is on the Chemin de l’eau chaude, at a car park in Saint-Clément, less than a ten-minute walk from a bus stop and 20 to 30 minutes by car from an SNCF railway station.

Wine and Regional Cuisine

Domaine de Trépaloup in the centre of Saint-Clément is an organic winery with 16 different grape varieties across 16 hectares. Its wines belong to the AOC Languedoc Sommières and IGP Cévennes designations. The plots lie at the foot of Bois de Paris or on the plain; the entire estate has been organically certified since 2013.

The Domaine de Trépaloup visitor experience combines a walk through pine stands, vineyards, olive groves and Bois de Paris with a cellar tour and a tasting of four to five wines. It is available by reservation for 5 to 30 people.

La Guinguette du Château serves homemade dishes made from local produce at the foot of the château.

History and Crafts

The former lime kiln near the D35 is a kiln for converting limestone into lime through calcination. The Roman bridge over the Quiquilhan stream lies on a transhumance route along which sheep were driven towards the Cévennes.

The château in Saint-Clément dates from the 16th century and has four round towers.

La chouette Blanche offers yoga classes for adults and children as well as meditation sessions in Saint-Clément. A three-hour workshop introducing participants to lace-making is also offered in Saint-Clément; the materials are provided, and participants make a bracelet.
