The hiking route to Château de Trouillas is a 3.2-kilometre circular trail starting from Rousson, with a duration of about one hour. It leads from the village of Rousson to the 17th-century château and offers views of the Cévennes. Along the entire route, it is marked in yellow as a Promenade et Randonnée-type hiking trail.

Culture

Château de Rousson is a 16th-century château overlooking the village of Rousson and has been listed as a historic monument since 1972. The Église Saint Martin de Rousson is a 12th-century Romanesque church and has been listed as a historic monument since 1963. Today, it serves as a venue for cultural events.

The Préhistorama displays more than 1,500 exhibits, including genuine fossils and extremely rare casts, and offers an immersive presentation of the origins of life and human evolution. Workshops for children, conferences and performances take place there throughout the year.

The Castellas site comprises the remains of a feudal castle on a former Gallo-Roman citadel. Among other things, a section of wall made from local limestone has been preserved as the remains of a private chapel between the foundations of the keep and the rock face. The site offers panoramic views from the Cévennes to Mont Ventoux and, in clear weather, as far as Mont Blanc.

Nature

Lac de Ségoussac is a former basin containing bauxite residues that has been completely drained and restored to nature; fauna and flora are reclaiming the site. Garrigue and rocky terrain around Lac de Ségoussac border a wetland. During an excursion at the lake, coots, great crested grebes and cormorants were observed or heard.

The Ethnobotanical Gardens of La Gardie offer guided tours and a botanical trail. They represent part of the local heritage associated with wild-growing and cultivated plants.
