Potelières is one of the municipalities in the Natura 2000 site “La Cèze et ses gorges”. Château de Potelières has been listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments since 1947.

Culture
Château de Potelières acquired its present appearance through alterations carried out in the 18th century. The park was designed on the model of Versailles and includes an orangery that was used to protect the orange trees in winter. The ruins of Château d’Allègre are also located in the vicinity of Potelières.
Further afield in the region are the historic site of Notre-Dames des Fonts Saint Bernard et Sainte Claire, the ruins of Abbaye de Valsauve (1217–1375), and the Abbatiale de Goudargues monastery.
Nature
The Natura 2000 site “La Cèze et ses gorges” comprises limestone cliffs and Mediterranean vegetation on limestone, including holm oak forests and boxwood stands. The Gautefrache summit is located near Potelières. The Serre de Vambelle and Serre Noir peaks, as well as the Serre de Banassac mountain, are located in the surrounding area.
Outdoor Activities
Hiking trails cross Potelières and pass through garrigue and chestnut groves. The garrigue section of the Chemin des Budos runs along the Cèze and the Auzonnet on flowering paths scented with acacia, thyme, and lavender. Along the Chemin des Budos, hikers can see or encounter Château de Potelières.
Walks in Potelières, along the Cèze, and in the surrounding area are accessible to everyone. The Les Gorges de la Cèze cycle path continues towards Potelières and runs there for several hundred metres along the Cèze.
