Les Salles-Du-Gardon: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Landscape
The Cévennes Fault divides Les Salles-du-Gardon into two clearly different areas: a dry area characterised by limestone, with predominantly holm oaks, and a slate-dominated, more humid area with chestnut trees and pines.
Those wishing to find or rent a holiday apartment in Les Salles-du-Gardon can plan their stay directly in the town.
Culture and History
The main construction phase of the Château de La Tour dates back to the 13th century. The Chapelle Saint Pierre de la Tour was built in the 9th century and follows the rock strata. It has been listed as a historic monument since 4 August 1963.
The Tour Saint Pierre was also built in the 13th century and listed as a historic monument in 1963. Underground passages connect the Tour Saint Pierre with the chapel and the Château.
The Dolmen du Roc Troué is located on a mountain called Roc Troué. It was used for depositing offerings and the ashes of the deceased.
Nature and Activities
The municipality's hills offer numerous hikes through typical Cévenol hamlets. Another facility for outdoor activities is the Salles-du-Gardon pump track: built near the Gardon in 2025, it offers a circuit for bicycles, skateboards, scooters and roller skates.
Agriculture and Products
Le Mas del Fray combines agricultural production with a farm shop. There, Le Mas del Fray sells eggs, charcuterie and meat produced by Audrey and Nicolas. The farm breeds Baron des Cévennes pigs, traditional domestic pigs and laying hens.
Upon request, Le Mas del Fray offers individual and group tours.
