The Camp de César is an 18-hectare protohistoric and Roman settlement on the eastern edge of the Lacau Plateau. It overlooks the Rhône Valley. A smartphone app enables a virtual tour of the Camp de César, with content linked to QR codes and a 3D reconstruction of the ancient Gallo-Roman town.

The Chapelle Saint-Jean de Todon, also known locally as Saint-Jean de Rousigue, represents the final settlement phase of the Gallic and later Roman settlement of Camp de César. Its history may date back to the 5th to 7th centuries; it ceased to be used as a place of worship from the 14th century onwards.

The Aqueduc de Balouvière was built in 1870 to supply the village of Laudun, as well as its fountains and livestock watering troughs, with spring water. The aqueduct is 76 metres long and built of limestone and brick. The Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs was built in 1647 to accommodate a brotherhood of White Penitents. It lies south of the Sainte-Foy hill and overlooks the town of Laudun-l'Ardoise.

The Église Notre-Dame-la-Neuve was built in the second half of the 14th century; a large part of it was completed in 1352. A few years later, it became the seat of a priory of the Avignon Celestine Order that existed until the French Revolution. The church features defensive characteristics: its southern façade was fortified, and the bell tower served as a watchtower.

The signposted cycling route “La Vigneronne” is 23.97 kilometres long, starts and ends in the centre of Laudun, and is indicated as taking 2 hours and 30 minutes. It passes through vineyards and hilly landscapes with green slopes, as well as historical remains.

Nature

The Jeu de piste au Clos de Taman uses the Explorama app for geolocated challenges and quizzes along the route. It leads through an island of biodiversity amid the vineyards below the historic Camp-de-César Plateau.

Wine

The “La bonne bouteille” Escave Game Sinnaé is a two-hour indoor team escape game at the Maison-Sinnae winery in Laudun. The tasting cellar of Maison Sinnae in Laudun offers cellar tours by reservation. Maison Sinnae also offers wine tastings led by experts in its cellar in Laudun.

Château Saint Maurice is an 18th-century château with a tasting cellar in a 13th-century sheep barn. Cellar tours are available by appointment.
