Hiking and Exploring
The “Balade entre ville et campagne” is an easy, 8.9-kilometre circular hike starting from Aubord, marked in yellow. An audio guide for this route is available via the Rando Gard smartphone app. It leads through the Costières, with vineyards and fruit trees lined by rows of cypress and poplar trees.
The “Promenade ludique et familiale à Aubord” is a 3.7-kilometre, self-guided treasure hunt through the village of Aubord, aimed at families and children. A map guide also covers hiking trails in Aubord and the surrounding municipalities.

Landscape
Aubord lies in the heart of the Camargue gardoise, the 14th Grand Site de France, between the Costières de Nîmes to the north and the ponds of the Camargue to the south. In the village, the soil is red and interspersed with rounded pebbles, characteristic of the Costière landscape.
Culture and History
The Église Saint-Martin d’Aubord has a square floor plan and consists of a single building beneath a kinked double-pitched roof. It was destroyed during the Wars of Religion and rebuilt from the 17th century onwards. Its furnishings include a bénitier, that is, a baptismal or holy-water basin, listed in the inventory of the Monuments historiques.
The Temple-Café-Horloge d’Aubord is considered the only known case in France in which a temple-town hall-school building was converted into a public building with a temple, café and clock. From 1839 onwards, it was designed from the outset as a single building housing a temple, town hall and school.
The Maison Margarot is a well-preserved mas in the centre of Aubord, next to Place Silhol; its imposing façade is visible from the street.
