History and Culture
The Église Saint-Roch in Aiguèze was registered as a historic monument by decree dated 19 March 1993. The church is open to the public during the day. The Aiguèze Tourist Information Office is located on the ground floor of the town hall in the centre of the medieval village.

The Oppidum CastelViel, also known as “Château vieux”, overlooks the Ardèche gorges and can be reached via a yellow-marked hiking trail. The Le Rocher de Castelviel hike starts and ends at Aire de Giet in Aiguèze. It runs above the final meanders of the Ardèche gorges and offers views of the hills of the Gard.
The Sommet de Barrès peak and the Île du Petit Malétras island are also located in the area around Aiguèze.
