Paths and Landscape

The Sentier des Orchidées – Chemin des Planètes is an easy 1.5-kilometre circular trail that starts and ends in Talairan. The Chemin des Planètes is a 250-metre educational trail featuring technical information created by schoolchildren from Lagrasse, St Laurent de la Cabrerisse, Tournissan and Talairan.

The long Sentier des Truffières is an easy circular trail from Talairan, measuring 5.5 kilometres in length with 155 metres of ascent. It passes truffle oaks that occur naturally in or are cultivated in the garrigue and offers a view of the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-l'Aire.

The Sentier du Facteur passes through vineyards, garrigue, sunken lanes, pine groves, streams and gorges, featuring a varied landscape and terrain. At the same time, it conveys the history of the former postman's route and follows its trail through the Métairies de Cantéric, du Razès, des Olivières, of Tréviac-Bas and Tréviac-Haut, of St Eugène and of Borio de Yo.

The Sentier du Gourg goutonnier leads to a chapel and reaches a pothole formation shaped by a river.

Culture and History

The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-l'Aire has a single-nave body, four side chapels, ribbed vaults made of dressed stone and carved keystones. Construction work on the chapel extended from the late 13th to the mid-14th century. The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-l'Aire and its surroundings have been protected as historic monuments since 13 February 1948.
