Culture

The bastide of Saint-Denis was built in the 13th century on a gently sloping hillside. Its wide streets and spacious squares are laid out according to a cross-shaped plan. The first document mentioning the bastide of Saint-Denis dates from 1293.

The historic site of Abbaye Saint-Pierre à Montolieu and the historic site of Abbaye de Villelongue are located in the vicinity of Saint-Denis. Further afield in the region are Chateau d'Aiguefonde and Château Comtal.

Regional Produce

EARL Moundy Gilles is a 135-hectare family farm in Saint-Denis that raises organic cattle in the Montagne Noire Audoise. The farm produces raw milk, fromage blanc, and plain, sweetened and flavoured farmhouse yoghurts with vanilla, lemon and fruit flavours.
