The “Haute Vallée de l'Aude et bassin de l'Ayguette” area is classified as a Natura 2000 site and an important reservoir of biodiversity.

History and culture

The Château de Roquefort was set on fire by the Calvinists in 1572. It was rebuilt in the following century and is currently in excellent condition.

The Chemin Vieux is a hiking trail that leads from Escouloubre to Roquefort-de-Sault. It connects Sainte-Colombe-sur-Guette, Roquefort-de-Sault, Le Bousquet and Escouloubre.
