Peyriac-Minervois: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

After the village was taken in 1364, the parish seat of Saint-Etienne du Vilar was permanently transferred to the Church of Saint-Sauveur at its present location; the existing building was partially rebuilt and fortified. The Church of Saint-Sauveur was probably rebuilt around the middle of the 12th century; its vaulted choir and the apse MR11 presumably date from this period. The fortifications of Peyriac-Minervois can be admired from the bridge.

Routes and activities

The Minervois-Caunes–Pic de Nore cycling tour can be started in Peyriac-Minervois. In addition, the Rieux-Minervois–Carcassonne section of the Way of Saint James on the Voie du Piémont includes Peyriac-Minervois. The Chemin vert du canal du Midi au piémont, a 24-kilometre, four-hour walking route that is not a circular trail, runs through the village.

Water and wellness

The Centre aquatique Les Bains de Minerve has an indoor 25-metre sports pool with five lanes and a teaching pool. The facilities also include an outdoor leisure pool, a landscaped sunbathing lawn, a water-play area and a wellness area with a hammam, sauna and relaxation zone. Aquabiking, aqua fitness, baby swimming, swimming lessons and other supervised water activities are also offered.

Wine and terroir

Tour Saint Martin is a winegrowers' cooperative founded in 1930. It offers tours and wine tastings for €5.00 to €20.00, as well as tasting accessories, gift boxes and regional products. The terroir of the Tour Saint Martin cooperative consists of two large gravelly clay-limestone terraces from the Quaternary period overlooking the Argent-Double valley.
