Water and Paths
The Canal du Midi runs south of Olonzac. Its structures at the Ognon include double locks, an aqueduct bridge, a defensive gate and spillways. These structures are part of a protected area on the World Heritage List.

The Centre de Recherche et de Documentation du Minervois in Olonzac houses archaeological collections with finds dating from the Palaeolithic to the Roman period.

The protohistoric Mourrel Ferrat site from the Iron Age lies on the southern boundary of the municipality of Olonzac. The Bassanel oppidum dates from the 6th century BC.
Nature and Surroundings
Lac de Jouarres is located near Olonzac between Carcassonne and Narbonne. The lake covers approximately 110 hectares and offers areas shaded by pine groves, as well as pebble and grass beaches that are supervised in summer. Activities available there include inflatable games, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, hiking and fishing.
Routes
For the Tour en Minervois, a three-day itinerary is proposed from Olonzac to La Caunette, continuing to Mailhac and returning to Olonzac.
The beginning of the Tour en Minervois circular route follows the GR®77 and is marked in red and white.
The 38-km Tour en Minervois hiking loop of the GR® de Pays Minervois, Saint-Chinian, Faugères has Olonzac as its designated reference point.
In the Village
In the historic centre of Olonzac, you can discover winemakers' houses while taking a stroll. The Olonzac market takes place every Tuesday morning.
