History and Culture
The Vieux pont in Labastide-en-Val over the Sou was listed as a historic monument by decree of 27 September 1948. Together with another bridge, it was historically the only connection between the village and the church. Its year of construction is unknown; in 1777, the bridge was already listed as “old” in an overview of bridges.
The washhouse in Labastide-en-Val has been completely renovated. A former pavilion of the public toilets in Labastide-en-Val was converted into a micro-museum. The micro-museum also includes a cadastral map from 1807 and displays twelve enlarged postcards showing the village’s past.

Hiking
Le Chemin des Panoramas is an easy 10 km hike with 450 metres of elevation gain. The hike begins and ends at the Vieux pont in Labastide-en-Val. Along paths through garrigue and woodland, it offers impressive views of the Southern Corbières, the Pyrenees, the Crêtes de Val-de-Dagne and the Montagne Noire; a panoramic viewpoint indicator helps with orientation and identifying the panoramas.
Water and Surroundings
The weir on the Alsou River is easily accessible on foot. In the surrounding area, you can choose between small and large pools or a lake, where a small jump is possible.
