Nature
Part of the municipality of Brugairolles extends across the “Massif de la Malepère” Natura 2000 protected area. On Sunday, 26 April 2026, the guided nature walk “De l’Atlantique à la Méditerranée, il n’y a qu’un pas” took place in Brugairolles. The walk covered 3.5 kilometres and was of medium difficulty.
Townscape and History
Brugairolles is a village laid out as a circulade. In the past, the village was a fortified town that curved around and adjoined its château and was laid out near the church. At the centre of this curve stands a tower that was used as a water tower for a long time.
Church
The church dedicated to Saint Julien was built between 1804 and 1807. It has stained-glass windows and murals from the period between 1850 and 1880, created by Louis Victor Gesta’s workshops in Toulouse and recently restored.
Wine and Cuisine
The Domaine Gayda in Brugairolles offers wine tastings as well as organically produced wines. The domaine also has a restaurant overlooking the Pyrenees.
