Corse-Du-Sud: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Corse-Du-Sud presents a variety of coastal and landscape scenery at the southern tip of Corsica. The limestone plateau of Bonifacio overlooks the Strait of Bonifacio. The southern coast includes the rocky coastline of Aullène, the wild Testa Ventilegne, the white cliffs of Bonifacio, as well as sandy beaches and lagoons in the east. From Roccapina to Santa Giulia, the southern coast borders the Bouches de Bonifacio Nature Reserve and the terrestrial part of the International Marine Park, which was created in 2012. Those wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Corse-Du-Sud can then continue their accommodation search.

Nature

Roccapina stretches inland across more than 500 hectares of maquis, with taffoni scattered throughout. The bay includes a beach, dunes and small wetlands. A bay with pale sand and turquoise water lies below a granite mountain ridge shaped like a lion. A route of about 30 minutes through the maquis leads to viewpoints offering panoramic views and a large taffoni.

Baracci Beach lies in a protected natural landscape, where swimming, relaxing and coastal hikes are possible. The Aiguilles de Bavella reach 1,899 metres and feature gorges, natural slides, jumps and emerald-green granite pools. The Bay of Santa Giulia in southern Corsica has a white sandy beach and clear blue sea.

The UNESCO-listed Gulf of Porto extends across the départements of Corse-du-Sud and Haute-Corse and was inscribed in 1983.

Culture and History

Casa di Roccapina, which is affiliated with the Sartène Prehistory Museum, offers tours with an audio guide or accompanied by staff. Outside, there is a reconstructed shepherd's oriu. The free Un caminu di a Punta trail leads from the car park on the RT40 through the maquis and cultural heritage sites in 45 minutes.

The Campomoro Tower was built in 1583 at a preserved coastal site with numerous small coves. In the Sartenais-Valinco-Taravo area, the dolmens and menhirs of Filitosa are highlighted as prehistoric visitor sites. The Sartène Museum is a cultural heritage attraction in this area.

Activities

The Lavezzi Archipelago off Bonifacio can be reached by boat, explored by kayak and visited via an underwater snorkelling trail. The Sartenais-Valinco-Taravo area is the starting point for the Mare a Mare Sud and Mare e Monti Sud hiking trails. Water activities in this area include sailing, canyoning, sea excursions and scuba diving.

The Fautea–Lavu Santu route runs between Fautea Beach and Lavu Santu, also known as Beach of the Americans.
