Matougues is home to the Romanesque Church of Saint-Georges, a church classified as a historic monument. Its nave dates from the early 12th century; by decree of 24 July 1986, the church was classified as a historic monument.
A fresco by Roland Irolla, an artist who lived in Matougues, can be found on the Matougues water tower. It depicts scenes from Matougues, including the church and the bridge over the Marne. The façade of Matougues Town Hall is built from chalk tiles.
Leisure
Matougues' public leisure area includes children's play equipment, a pétanque court, a beach volleyball court, a small BMX track and a covered picnic area.
Paths and Nature
The “Balade à Matougues” circular walk is a very easy 2.6-kilometre walk lasting around 30 minutes. It is designated as a heritage trail for occasional walkers.
A footpath has been created in the Marne Valley at Matougues. The farm tracks towards the Marne Valley pass through an area rich in birdlife; corncrakes, among others, breed in the fallow land. The walk in Matougues mentions the GR14 as a route for continuing towards Juvigny.
