History

The d’Anglure family rebuilt Château d'Étoges at the beginning of the 17th century on the foundations of a medieval fortress, preserving the moats. Château d'Étoges also retains four corner towers and the moats of an earlier residence; renovations around 1723 added a stone bridge, wrought-iron gates and statues of lions. The portal, moats and façades of Château d'Étoges are classified as historic monuments.

Étoges was formerly a post station on the road from Paris to Strasbourg. The parish church of Saint-Sulpice Saint-Antoine dates from the 12th century.
