Courcelles-Sapicourt is partly located in the Natura 2000 zone “Marais et pelouses du tertiaire au Nord de Reims”, a special protection area (FR 2100274). The rare Fen Orchid (Liparis loeselii), a wetland orchid, may occur in the Marais du Clos; the species is protected at national and European level. The Marais du Clos is home to flora and fauna worthy of protection and is ecologically preserved and managed by the Conservatoire d’espaces naturels de Champagne-Ardenne.

Culture

The Notre-Dame Church in Courcelles-Sapicourt was rebuilt in the 1920s after its destruction in the First World War. It has a square tower portal supported by buttresses, as well as a small brick tower leading to the bell tower. The Notre-Dame Church in the hamlet of Sapicourt is normally closed and is opened only for the very rare services held there each year.

The former Château de Sapicourt served as a field hospital during the First World War. The Château de Sapicourt was demolished in the 1950s; some outbuildings, including the orangery and the cowshed, survived and were converted into homes. In 1906, the widow of Alphonse Allais married Maurice Bertrand there; Georges Victor-Hugo and Alfred Capus were among those present.
