Carignan: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Since 1997, Carignan has hosted the annual Festival International de Folklore (FIF), featuring professional dance and singing groups from all over the world.

Culture and History

The microfilm collection in Carignan is located in the Médiathèque Les Mousquetaires and provides free access to works from major national and international cultural institutions. The old municipal archives of Carignan cover more than four centuries and can be consulted during the consultation hours held every Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Médiathèque de Carignan, 3 rue de la Jonclière.

The collegiate church of Carignan was rebuilt after the Second World War according to its original ground plan in the Late Gothic style and has been classified since 1990. Bastions, walls and a recently restored guardhouse remain from Carignan's fortifications. The fortification, built by Charles V in the 16th century, still features preserved casemates.

The Chapelle Saint-Pierre in the hamlet of Wé, a district of Carignan, dates from the 18th century.

Nature

Mont Tilleul is a rounded hill between Carignan and Blagny. The circular route around Mont Tilleul is easy to walk and offers views northwards over the Deux-Villes valley and southwards towards the Chiers valley.

Cycling

The Véloroute Centre Ardenne leads to Carignan; from there, scenic roads run through the Chiers valley towards Mairy, from where the Meuse can be seen. Fish & Bike offers maintenance and repair services for mechanical and electric bicycles.
