Saint-Désert is a stage along the voie verte. The circular trail Entre la Chaume et le bois Rigaud begins in Saint-Désert and is 7.9 km long. The Mont Avril discovery trail passes through Jambles, Moroges and Saint-Désert and is freely accessible year-round.

Culture and history

The Église Saint-Isidore has a defensive character. The bases of its towers and the machicolation are original, while the battlement was added by the restorer. The choir, transept and chapels were reconstructed between 1862 and 1885; a bell tower rises above the façade. Saint-Désert belonged to the Diocese of Chalon-sur-Saône from the 13th century onward.

In the vicinity of Saint-Désert are the Musée Nicéphore Niépce and the historic sites Abbaye Saint-Pierre de Chalon-sur-Saône and Ferté-sur-Grosne; the latter is a Cistercian abbey in Saône-et-Loire, France.
