Saillenard: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Saillenard is a rural municipality in the Bresse region with 370 hectares of municipal woodland. Anyone choosing Saillenard as a destination will want to find a holiday apartment for their stay.
Nature and Water
Étang Chanceveau is a 6-hectare pond in the municipality of Saillenard and is owned by the municipality. Walkers can walk around the pond and learn about the local fauna and flora from information boards.
Fishing at Étang Chanceveau is permitted for members of the authorised AAPPMA associations of Saône-et-Loire, as well as for anglers with a fishing licence and the CHI (Club Halieutique Interdépartemental), EHGO (Entente Halieutique du Grand Ouest) or URNE (Union Régionale Nord Est) permits. There is also a zip line at the pond in Saillenard as a family activity.
Culture and History
The new Saint-Pierre Church in Saillenard was begun in 1861 and completed in 1864. The temporary Église de paille was built in the town hall courtyard from pine boards covered with straw and served as a place of worship for around ten years. The new Saint-Pierre Church faces in the opposite direction to the former church.
Jean-Maire Putigny was born in Saillenard and fought at Austerlitz, in Russia and in the final Belgian campaign of 1815.
Events
A fourth Salon du livre was held at the Foyer rural in Saillenard. Around twenty regional authors, as well as authors of children's and young adult literature and comics, were represented at the fourth Salon du livre.
