La Boulaye combines landscapes, architectural history and Buddhist culture. The municipality stretches between the Arroux at an altitude of 256 metres and the Bois de Chaumont with the Montagne de la Louère at an altitude of 486 metres. Culture
The Buddhist Paldenshangpa Temple in La Boulaye was founded in 1974 by a Tibetan lama. It extends over three levels and houses huge Buddha statues as well as brightly coloured paintings; it is also known as the Temple des Mille Bouddhas. The garden features colourful banners and a pyramid-shaped stupa, a Tibetan religious monument.

Paldenshangpa La Boulaye offers courses, retreats and teachings to deepen Buddhist practice and understanding of Buddhism. History
A former Roman road runs through La Boulaye from Poiseuil in the north to Pont du Gourmandou in the south. It is private and has several stone bridges.
A private former manor farm in La Boulaye includes an ice house dating from 1740, with a diameter of 8 metres and a depth of 6 metres, as well as a spiral staircase with offset steps. In a private forest lies the tomb of the Counts of Montmort, featuring a stone pyramid 5 metres high and wide above a burial site with 16 places.
The former Château Schneider was built on the site of the former kennels after the château burned down and is now owned by the Buddhist congregation under the name Bodhi Tree House. An animal-powered mill dating from 1830, with an impressive external stone staircase, was converted into luxurious guest rooms.
Nature
The Circuit du Bois de Chaumont is a hiking trail in La Boulaye. Over 3 kilometres, it follows the red-and-white markings of the GR131 to the Croix de Valveron. Its route passes the temple and then returns towards its starting point.
