Chauffailles: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

On the outskirts of Chauffailles, on the Botoret, stands the medieval Château de Chauffailles, which was rebuilt in the 18th century. The larger northeastern tower appears to date from the 15th century.

In the Église St André, the broad nave of a basilica church is separated from the side aisles by seven round-arched arcades. The choir stalls and choir paneling have been preserved.

The Musée du Tissage is housed in the former Guéneau boarding house. Young women who worked in Chauffailles' textile factory lived in this boarding house. The museum displays functioning looms, from hand looms to mechanical looms.

Leisure and Discoveries

The Parc du château – aire de loisirs includes a large zip line, a football pitch, athletics tracks, a skate park, a pump track and a municipal stadium. The park also invites visitors to walk around the pond and offers picnic tables and deck chairs.

The tourist office offers the family mystery trail “Au secours de l'ermite” in Chauffailles, available year-round. “La légende du fil magique” is a treasure hunt and discovery trail in Chauffailles. La Nature du Bois displays turned wooden objects; visits to the workshop are possible year-round by appointment.

Culinary Delights

The fully renovated park of Chauffailles hosts four culinary evenings per year in summer.

At Croqu'saison, visitors can meet local producers and taste terroir products as well as regional specialities made by farmers. Croqu'saison is a shop in which more than 30 farms have joined together to offer their activities and products.

Landscape and Trails

The “Balade des cimes” route runs through the Botoret Valley, which is described on the route as a first-category river.
