The Chapelle des Moines is the Romanesque chapel of a Cluniac priory with exceptional frescoes. Traces of wall paintings were discovered in 1887 beneath the thick whitewash on the walls by Philibert Jolivet, the parish priest of Berzé-la-Ville. An admission ticket for the Chapelle des Moines provides access to the lower and upper chapels.

The Église de la Purification de la Vierge also preserves distinctive historical elements: it has an 11th-century Romanesque bell tower and painted furnishings from the 16th century.

The Fours à Plâtre were listed as historic monuments on 28 February 1994. Their 19th-century building contains six visible rectangular kilns in the lower section and two circular continuously fired kilns in the upper section.

Landscape

Berzé-la-Ville lies on a slope at the foot of the wooded rocky promontory of La Roche Coche, in a hilly landscape with vineyards and meadows typical of the bocage landscape. La Roche Coche reaches an elevation of 455 metres and offers panoramic views of Berzé-la-Ville and the Val Lamartinien.

The entire listed area of Berzé-la-Ville lies within the Type II ZNIEFF area of “La Côte Mâconnaise”.

In the village

The “Les merveilles de Berzé-la-Ville” route was established together with the association “Les Amis du Vieux Berzé” and invites visitors to discover the village’s exceptional cultural heritage. The washhouses of Berzé-la-Ville were built in the second half of the 19th century. The two-storey fountain of Berzé-la-Ville was built as a small ashlar tower and covered with lave stones.
