Chasselas: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Chasselas has held the official status of a Site patrimonial remarquable since 1 December 2014; this status was created במסגרת an AVAP. Its historic character includes the Romanesque Notre-Dame des Vignes church, also known as Chapelle aux loups, which stands on the heights of Chasselas. The bell tower of Église Notre-Dame is decorated at the corners with sculpted heads.

Wine and Architectural Heritage

The Domaine du Château de Chasselas is a vineyard covering around 12 hectares, surrounding a château dating from the 14th to the 18th century and flanked by three towers. The Domaine du Château de Chasselas offers tours for groups and individuals by prior appointment.

Circular Routes

The Le Mont Archez circular route is a signposted 7.5-kilometre trail for hikers and mountain bikers that begins and ends at the Esplanade in Chasselas. It passes through woodland near Mont Archez and offers views of the village and the valley.

Les crêtes du Beaujolais is a signposted 15-kilometre circular route for hikers and mountain bikers that begins and ends at the Esplanade in Chasselas. From Prémessin, the trail follows the GR 76A signposts to Grange du Bois, then continues to Mont Archez and on to Fontaine aux Vernes.

Culture and History

The walking tour “Chasselas, entre artistes et légendes” takes visitors through the village streets, past works of art, Mâconnais gallery houses and other heritage features. The village stream Arlois was used primarily as a source of power for the mills in the surrounding area; there were probably two mills in Chasselas.
