Nature
The Les Étangs d’Or leisure park near Merceuil-Tailly covers more than 200 hectares and includes 16 ponds. From Beaune, the route leads via the Beaune-Centre exit of the A6 and then along the D23 towards Merceuil. The site is open daily, and admission is free. Herons, kingfishers and coots can be observed from viewing points on the edge of the ponds. The Étangs d’Or near Merceuil offer walks for families, fishing and the opportunity to explore natural habitats.
The 1.5-kilometre hiking trail “Sentier du Hérisson” is signposted in the Merceuil area.
Culture
The parish church of Saint-Laurent in Merceuil is located on Rue du Bourg. The church was built in three different construction phases: its oldest section dates from the period of Charlemagne, from the end of the 8th to the beginning of the 9th century, while the choir dates from the late Middle Ages and is Gothic in style. A reredos adorns the apse and is visible from the outside.
The “Expérience Horlogerie à l’Instant Beaun’Heur” activity in Merceuil offers an introductory watchmaking experience or an introductory course. This watchmaking activity can be booked in 2026 from 1 January to 31 December by prior appointment.
