Losne is located on the left bank of the Saône. The stepped quays of Losne on the Saône are equipped as a mooring place for river navigation. Several modern pontoons are accessible along the quays upstream from the bridge.
Culture and History
The Church of Notre-Dame in Losne dates from the late 17th century and was remodeled in the 19th century. A sacristy was built at the church and the roof was renewed in 1819; it was extended in 1827.
The history of the quay facilities is also well documented: Construction work on the stepped quays of the port of Losne between 1837 and 1839 included two access ramps to the bridge and two ramps for watering livestock.
Several historic sites are located around Losne: Notre-Dame de Tart Abbey, the Château of Auxonne, the fortification wall on Rue du Rempart des Ursulines, and the Count's Gate.
Nature and Trails
From Losne, the cycle route continues along towpaths on a secured route to Pagny-la-Ville.
The Sentier du Pochon connects the hamlets of Losne and Maison-Dieu in the municipality of Losne with the Étang du Pontreux and the forest. The 13.6-kilometer hiking trail starts at Losne Town Hall and takes approximately three and a half hours.
The Mont Roland hill is located in the wider regional surroundings of Losne.
Activities
The Chaugey loop is a former arm of the Saône that is now used for water sports, particularly water skiing.
ULM Val de Saône offers flights and introductory flights over the Rives de Saône area.
