Culture and history
The Abbaye de La Bussière is a 12th-century Cistercian abbey founded in 1131 by Saint Etienne Harding. The church of the Abbaye de La Bussière was consecrated in 1172. The church and cellar with its wine press were classified as historic monuments in 1981.
The Tuilerie de La Bussière operated continuously from the 14th century until the beginning of the 20th century. The still-visible buildings of the former Tuilerie de La Bussière illustrate the development of the site and brick production.
