The Château (vestiges de l'ancien) in Chaudenay-le-Château has major construction phases dating from the 13th and 14th centuries; it has been listed as a historic monument since 6 March 1950.

Culture

The medieval castle of Chaudenay-le-Château stands on a narrow rocky promontory, is privately owned and cannot be visited.

The Église Saint-Pierre was largely rebuilt in 1865. It preserves a medieval Romanesque-style choir and two buttresses.

The Fontaine de Chénechoux emerges from a municipal building and, near the castle, first feeds a circular livestock trough and then a washhouse.

The Ancienne école de Chaudenay-le-Château conveys the appearance of a school from the time of Jules Ferry, with large desks for nine pupils, a round stove, the teacher's desk on a raised platform and French maps from the period before 1914. It was built around 1865 and closed in 1946.

In the immediate vicinity of Chaudenay-le-Château is Châteauneuf Castle, a historic site. The surrounding area is home to the Abbaye Notre-Dame de la Bussière, a monastery, and the Abbaye Sainte-Marguerite de Bouilland, also a monastery.
