The Château d’Etrabonne in Champagne-sur-Vingeanne is a building with four corner towers that was remodelled in the 19th century. Its grounds include an extensive park bordering the Vingeanne. The entire site has been listed as a historic monument by decree of 27 December 2019.
The parish church of Saint-Julien-de-Brioude contains monumental murals entitled “Vierge des litanies et anges musiciens”. They were discovered in 1991 during work in the church and then immediately restored. The parish church also houses the sculpture group “Le Calvaire”, which has been classified as a protected monument since 22 July 1959. Saint-Julien Church also contains a statue of a young lord with a falcon on his hand, probably dating from the 15th century. Its iconography suggests an attribution to Saint Thibault or Saint Julien.
Nature
The Jardin des Abeilles in Champagne-sur-Vingeanne is a 2,500 m² French garden with boxwood, roses, a pond, an orchard and an apiary. The Circuit de Jacky offers the opportunity to explore the landscape via small paths and encounter nature.
The Pat&Plumes educational farm offers workshops in equine-assisted mediation as well as encounters with horses and donkeys.
Things to do
A marked 9 km hiking trail is available on the esplanade of the former Champagne-sur-Vingeanne railway station. The starting point of the Vélorail de la Vingeanne is at Place de la Gare in Champagne-sur-Vingeanne.
