The Commanderie de Templiers was founded around 1120. Its south wing was built in the 12th and 13th centuries, and the remaining buildings in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries.

The wall paintings of the Chapelle Saint-Renobert de Romprey were discovered and restored in 1933. By decree of 4 October 1996, the Chapelle Saint-Renobert de Romprey was listed as a historic monument. The chapel was built together with the château in 1500 by Edme Régnier, lieutenant general of the Bailliage de la Montagne and Lord of Romprey.

The car park at the Marais du Cônois can be reached from Bure-les-Templiers via the D102 towards Chaugey; after approximately 2 km, a road sign indicates the access road to the car park.
