Coast and Nature
The Plage Suscinio, Plage Beg Lann, plage de Montsarrac and plage de la Villeneuve are located in the area around Damgan. The Grande Plage de Landrezac is considered wild and unspoilt. The trees provide some shade at the Petite Plage de Kervoyal.
West of Damgan, the Pénerf River is suitable for observing barnacle geese, birds of prey and grey plovers – from the coastal path or from the river mouth.
Culture and History
In the 16th century, the Port de Pénerf was the fourth port in Brittany. The Tour des Anglais stands at the Pointe du Lenn; it is a fire and watchtower probably built in the 16th century. It was listed as a historic monument by a decree dated 22 October 1997.
There are also several historic sites in the area around Damgan: the historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Prières, Château de Suscinio, Château de Kerlévenan and Château de Truscat.
Local Life and Flavours
A market takes place every Saturday morning throughout the year in Damgan. The Damgan-Kervoyal market takes place on Wednesday mornings in Kervoyal in July and August.
The Route de l’huître invites visitors to visit oyster farmers and take part in a tasting. The “Pénerfine” oyster is produced locally in the Pénerf River.
