History and Culture
The Chapelle de la Poulnais was rebuilt in 1908 on the site of a larger predecessor building; according to historical research, this had been built at the beginning of the 17th century. The lime kiln near Les Fours à Chaux was approved by a prefectural decree in April 1856.
In the vicinity of Saint-Thurial are La fontaine de Jouvence and Tombeau de Merlin, both ancient sites. The Abbaye Saint-Jacques, a historic site, is also located in the vicinity of Saint-Thurial. In the wider regional surroundings of Saint-Thurial is the Musée des Beaux-Arts, a museum.
Water and Rock
The Barrage de la Chèze was built in 1974–1975 to create a water reservoir for the city of Rennes. The Grotte aux sorciers in the Vallée du Rohuel has rocks bearing undated engraved markings.

The Circuit du Rocher Vert n°142 is an easy 1-hour-and-15-minute walk. The Circuit du Chemin à la Dame n°140 is a very easy 1-hour-and-20-minute walk.
